Transportation Options from HPN to NYC
Getting from Westchester County Airport (HPN) to “the City” (typically referring to Manhattan, NYC) requires a combination of ground transport, as there is no direct rail link to the terminal.
The most common and reliable method is a two-step process:
- HPN to Metro-North Station: Take a taxi, ride-share, or local bus (see Post 3) from the HPN terminal to the White Plains or Rye Metro-North train station. (Approx. 10–20 minutes)
- Metro-North to NYC: Board a Metro-North train on the Harlem Line (from White Plains) or the New Haven Line (from Rye) to Grand Central Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. (Approx. 40–55 minutes)
| Method | Estimated Total Time (HPN to GCT) | Estimated Cost |
| Taxi/Car Service | $\approx 45 – 70$ minutes (Direct) | $\approx \$100 – \$150$ (Flat Rate) |
| Train (2-Step) | $\approx 60 – 80$ minutes (Total) | $\approx \$15$ (Bus/Taxi + Rail fare) |
